Dubac Quarry is one of the key operational facilities of PGM Ragusa, specialized in the exploitation of technical building stone. The entire work process is based on modern methods, the highest safety standards and a responsible attitude towards the environment.
Exploitation of technical building stone
At the Dubac quarry, exploitation is carried out by the drilling and blasting method — a process that requires precise planning, expertise and strict compliance with legal and safety standards. The complexity of the process includes:
- geological research and planning of exploitation areas
- specialized drilling of blast holes
- controlled blasting using certified explosives
- monitoring of vibrations and environmental impact
- implementation of all safety measures for employees and the surrounding community
Crushing and classification – modern crushing plant
After the separation and preparation of primary stone, the material is transported to a modern crushing plant where the following is carried out:
- primary and secondary crushing
- separation and classification into different granulometric fractions
- quality control of the obtained aggregate
We use modern equipment that enables high efficiency, reduced energy consumption and lower emissions, contributing to the overall ecological sustainability of the facility.
Ecology and sustainable land management
Special attention is paid to environmental protection, including:
- dust and noise reduced to a minimum using dust-containment systems
- control of waste materials
- proper resource management
- continuous monitoring of environmental impact
- rehabilitation and landscaping plans for the exploitation area after works are completed
The goal is to ensure the long-term sustainable use of natural resources with the least possible impact on the natural environment.
